FAQ
The Rugs
Are these rugs really one of a kind?
Yes — genuinely. Every rug in the BarrettHOUSE collection is handmade by Amazigh weavers in Morocco. No two are ever identical. Once a piece sells, it’s gone permanently. We set inventory to one on every listing.
What tribes are the rugs from?
Our collection is sourced from Amazigh weavers across Morocco — the Indigenous communities whose craft has been passed down for generations. You’ll find pieces from Beni Ourain, Azilal, Boujaad, Taznakht, and more, each with its own distinct character, palette, and weaving tradition. Every listing tells you exactly where your rug comes from.
A note on language: we use the term Amazigh, not Berber. Amazigh is the name these communities use for themselves — it means “free people.” Berber is an outsider’s label with a history we don’t want to carry. It’s a small thing that matters.
Are the rugs new or vintage?
Both. Our collection includes contemporary handmade pieces as well as vintage and antique finds. Each listing specifies the age and era of the piece. Le Vault holds our rarest and oldest finds.
What are the rugs made from?
Most pieces are wool, or a wool and cotton blend. Materials are listed on every product page. Natural dyes are common in our older and tribal pieces — which means colors may vary slightly from screen to real life, and will age beautifully over time.
What sizes are available?
Sizes vary by piece and are listed on every product page. If you need a specific size, Made With You is our fully custom service — built entirely around your dimensions and vision.
Ordering & Payment
How do I know if a rug is still available?
If it’s on the site, it’s available. We remove sold pieces immediately. Inventory is always set to one — there’s no overselling.
What payment methods do you accept?
All major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal.
Can I reserve a rug?
We’re unable to hold pieces — our inventory is live and available to everyone equally. If something is calling to you, we’d encourage you to trust that feeling sooner rather than later.

Made With You
How does the custom rug process work?
You fill in our custom order form with your size, colors, style, and inspiration. We receive your order, reach out personally within 24 hours, and begin the design conversation from there. Once everything is confirmed, production begins with our weavers in Morocco.
How long does a custom rug take?
Custom rugs typically take 8–12 weeks from confirmed design to delivery. We’ll keep you updated throughout — including your personal video series showing the rug being made.
What does the video series include?
You’ll receive intimate footage shot inside the studio — the colors being chosen, the pattern emerging on the loom, the hands doing the work. By the time your rug arrives, you’ll already know it.
Can I make changes after I order?
Design changes can be accommodated within 48 hours of your order. Once production begins, changes are not possible. Reach us quickly at hello@barretthouse.com if you need to adjust anything.
Do you charge full price upfront for custom orders?
Yes — custom orders are charged in full at the time of purchase. This allows us to begin sourcing materials and scheduling production immediately.
