Our Story

Some people collect art. Some collect wine. I collect rugs.
Well, actually - I collect all three. But, no matter.

Finding special things has always been my obsession. For years my friends have joked that whenever we travel together they're shopping at “Sarah's Boutique” — because I will find the thing. One glimpse and I'm running back for it — the piece that makes your heart beat faster, the object that makes everyone stop and say where did you find that.

Some may call it a “shopping problem”. 
I instead, call it “Living”.

When I walked into the souks of Marrakech, something happened that I can only describe as inevitable. The color. The texture. The feeling of standing in front of something handmade and completely one of a kind, thinking — I simply cannot leave these behind.

I went to find rugs for my own home. 
I came back with rugs for yours.

Every piece in the BarrettHOUSE collection has been hand-selected by me, personally, from Amazigh weavers in Morocco — artisans whose craft has been passed down for generations. I don't buy what's available. I buy what stops me. What makes me catch my breath. What I genuinely cannot leave behind.

That instinct? You have it too.

We've been taught to be careful with our homes. To play it safe. To choose the neutral, the practical, the thing “you won't get sick of”. And somewhere along the way, interiors got a little boring and a little beige and a little afraid of themselves.

BarrettHOUSE exists to change that.

Because here's what I know after bringing these pieces into homes, including my own. The right rug doesn't just complete a room. It transforms the entire feeling of being in it. The thing that makes you smile every single morning. The thing that finally makes your home feel like you - fully, joyfully you.

Design is supposed to be fun. Your home is supposed to make you feel something — inspired, alive, delighted if we're lucky! The moment you stop overthinking and start trusting what draws you in, that's when the magic happens. (easier said than done, HA)
